My colleague Judith Discovered, who has died aged 77, was a printed textiles designer who taught fashion print for 55 yrs at Central Saint Martins, College of the Arts London.

Born in Horsforth, a town in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire, Judith was the daughter of Edna (nee Tidswell) and Albert Found, a chief draughtsman for a organization of engineers in Bradford. She was brought up in Pudsey with two brothers, Michael and Paul, attending Primrose Hill secondary fashionable school.

After leaving university at 16, her passion for art led her to Dewsbury and Batley Technical and Art Faculty, then Bradford School of Art. In 1964 she was presented a place on the textile style and design course at the Royal College or university of Art in London.
